How good is your Brinsea?

I have the octagon 20 EX with humidity pump. LOVE IT! Last hatch was 100%. Hold temp and humidity perfectly! Also have the cabinet brinsea that holds 190 eggs. Have BCM eggs hatching in it right now! Would not buy a different incubator now that I have these!

LOVE my Brinsea eco 20. Borrowed a friend's Octagon and tried that first, love it, so bought my own. Can't go wrong with a Brinsea.

I bought the Advance EX last spring. I think it's a really great unit in terms of quality of manufacture. The instructions could use a bit of a rewrite, parts of it are kind of hard to understand, IMO. It's easy to clean, and it does hold temp and humidity very precisely. The whole process is pretty much on autopilot from day one until lockdown -- all you need to do is make sure you refill the water tank about ever 10-14 days. Even though it's pretty sophisticated, I still think I got better results when I moved it down to my basement where temperature and humidity stayed very constant, as opposed to my upstairs spare bedroom where the room environment would vary a lot with the weather.

My hatches were between 25% and 87%, with most in the 50% range. All were shipped eggs, and most of them were shipped in June, July, and August in the summer heat, and I think that is a lot of the reason for the lower hatch rates, PLUS my newbie mistakes.

I'm looking forward to incubating some of my own, home-grown eggs this year, to see if the percentages go up. EXCEPT, God knows, I don't need any more bird!
