How hard is it to Keep a white Silkie clean for shows?

HI,

I would like to get a white silkie for showing and would like to know how hard it is to keep them really clean and white?

I don't know if it matters but I live in NC.

Most chickens will clean them selfs.
Dont feed them watermelon though mine got watermelon in there head dress thing and died it red and it was really sticky, mine did that 3 days before there showing.

Seriously, not to bad. Just don't let it free range. Keep it in deep bedding that should do.

Well we can't let them free range unless we are home because they can't see because of their creast and we have alot of hawks around hear.

This is the coop we are going to build them we fell in love with it and are going to do it just like it!

I understand they make booties to keep the foot feathers clean after they are bathed for the show! Love you new coop plans!!
