How high can a CX jump at 3 weeks?

Working on setting up my brooder shed for 65 CX's I'm getting this week. I'm using my 7x10 garden shed as the brooder until they go into the tractors full time. I have lots of experience with DP birds (Buff, Barred, Reds, ect.) as layers and know once they get about 3 weeks they start trying to jump/fly out of the pen so we cover with HWC to keep them in, but that is with 6-12 birds, not 65. With the DP birds I keep them in storage totes in smaller batches so it's easy to cover.

For these CX's they'll basically be in the shed. Not having experience with this breed, I was curious if they jump/fly like the DP's do. I'll make a gate at the door so they can't get out when the door is open, and the door will be closed except at servicing times so no risk of them getting out of the shed. I'm mainly concerned about them getting up to my shelves that are 4' off the floor. They will only be in the shed until they have feathered and can move outside full time.

Thanks
Jeremy

I think none of them will get up to 4', ever.
Be careful about having any roosts or steps, because their poor joints can't handle either 'up' or 'down' without the real risk of severe injury.
Last fall I raised a few, after swearing I wouldn't ever have them again! I pulled their feed from about 6pm to 8am every day after they were a few weeks old, and it did help; they are survived to 8 weeks.
