How High can They fly?

Hi,

I need to know how high I need to make the wall seporateing each breeding Pen? So silkies can't fly over them and get all the colors mixed up?

yep.

I've never seen a breeding pen without a top. When it comes to treading a hen the cock will find a way: fly or not.

I have some that can fly over an 8 foot fence easy-peasy, but my big orps can't even fly over a four footer

It all depends on quality.

The lesser quality birds usually can fly better, but some less quality birds also fly worse due to serious wing feather issues. . . It depends on the feathering of their wings.

Usually breeding pens have a top, and the divider goes the whole way up to the top leaving no gap or anything for a determined bird to get through. MW
