How hot/cold can the coop get?

How hot/cold is too hot/cold in the coop for British hy-line chickens. My coop now gets up to 25°C/77°F. Is this too hot? Or what is?

How hot/cold is too hot/cold in the coop for British hy-line chickens. My coop now gets up to 25°C/77°F. Is this too hot? Or what is?

Certain breeds to better with the heat or cold or both. Hy-line are bred to be prolific layers but I don't know what mix you have as far as unduring temperatures. Many are Leghorn cross breeds which are good egg producers and do very well in hot climates but not so great in really cold regions. 77 deg F is not too hot for most all chicken breeds if they have shade, good air circulation and fresh water available. My advice is to have chickens that do well in your region and have a well designed coop to withstand the temperature swings.

Great, thanks! I opened the coop door and replaced it with a mesh, so it went down from 30°C to 27°C, seems fine though, and they are more interested/frightened of the lawnmower .c Poor chickens.
