How I became addicted to chickens:

I had been interested for awhile in getting just a few chickens as pets for my grandchildren ( ages 8, 6 and 3), the fresh eggs being a bonus. We started out with a chicken tractor and a few chicks. Now only a year later, we still have the tractor as well as a hutch, but also have just built a 12x16 coop. We absolutely love our chickens. They are like part of the family. My grandchildren live right by me so we have lots of time together with our chickens. We have quite a variety among our 19, orpingtons, silkies, brahmas, ameraucana, araucana, wyandottes, barred rock, Dominique, and so on!! We love each for their individual personalities and beauty.
I've enjoyed this site for quite sometime and am proud to finally be a member!
