How important is a hygrometer and fan?

Just received my hovabator 1602 and it did not come with a fan or hygrometer like I thought it would... Oops. Do I need either of these? I have an automatic egg turner.
Also if I do get these things, how do I install them? Thanks.

Was it very hard to install the fan? What kind did you buy?

I had a 3" Radio shack fan laying around.I just made it fit.Easy for me .I have every tool known to man and have used them all my life.Mounting it securely in the foam is the only thing that can get you .Wireing is 2 wires tied in to incomeing power Probably best to buy fan kit from GQF unless your HANDY cva34

Consider sending it back to get what you want ..versus buying fan kit and installing..
