How is the corona virus effecting you all?

Hi! I know this is a very hard time right know! Lots of people are in shelter in place because of this corona virus! I thought it would be helpful for everyone to talk about what they are going through and where they are! I am in the Dallas Texas area and we will be going into a shelter in place tomorrow! I really hope this will slow the spread of the virus! How is covid-19 effecting you where you live! I wish you all the best and I hope you stay safe! Feel free to tell your stories!

Tennessee here-My wife and I are both older with health issues. I stay home, but my wife continues to go out shopping for what we do not really need, for the needs of a mother who is afraid to leave her home, and to go to "safe" Mc Donalds. She is my biggest fear because of her refusal to just stay home. Coronavirus cases have been reported just a county away. I fear that the virus is air born. I fear for a son who lives one block from a virus case. I fear what people will do as fear spreads and gets stronger; scared people have to have a scapegoat.

I do not scare easy, but this...so much of what is happening just does not make sense to me.

I'm staying home with my birds and dogs.

Arkansas here. I have a compromised immune system so I've been hunkered down the last month. I keep a stockpile of necessities so I have everything I need. Went to the store the other day and the panic buyers have the shelves cleaned out. Grabbed a 30 pack of beer and went back to my hole in the ground.

Yes the panic shoppers are crazy here too! Your supposed to be staying home but that are crowding the stores trying to get stuff it’s just going to make it spread faster! I’ve been staying home has well! It’s boring but it’s worth it! Stay safe everyone

Dollar General here had to have a police guard recently when their toilet paper/ paper towel delivery showed up. This panic buying, hoarding, and failure to observe the rules, are making things so much worse. And I have to stay really busy to keep from going stir crazy. It will be a lonely Easter, as no family can come to celebrate. Counting our blessings that we are older but both so far healthy, as much as we can be and as far as we know.

To us, it seems to make no sense that they are allowing cruise ship passengers off the ships and allowing them to fly home. I understand it's a horrible situation for them, but it seems like if they're going to be allowed off the ship, they should be quarantined somewhere close to where they disembark on shore for two weeks, to make sure they're not carrying the virus, the same as anyone else would be expected to self quarantine who'd been exposed. This way, they're flying home to wherever, and potentially dragging the virus with them. Senseless.

By color sexing, what they mean is that you should look for rust colored leakage popping up on the wing bars. With that chick being red, its going to be difficult to see, so don't go jumping to conclusions. The easiest and most reliable way is to watch the comb size and color as they develop. By about 8 weeks you or us should be able to give you a definitive answer.

In regards to the title of this thread... How is Corona virus effecting me and my family... I was still working up until last week. I had requested work from home as I'm high risk and so is my youngest. I had the computer set for me to take home after I left for the day (of course) on wed... That night I developed a fever so I elected to stay home from work on Thursday. My doc decided to send me for a test, which came back thankfully negative, on Friday. Since then, the occupational health people at work have decided that as long as I have a cough, I can't go back.... even though I'm negative. This sucks because I need no more than 10 min to get the dang computer to work from home... and I feel discriminated against because as an asthmatic in allergy season, I could be coughing for a month or more. Thankfully, my manager is going to try to get the computer completely set up so that all I have to do is have somebody give it to me at the door, but until that happens, I'm on my own time off. I do have a case in with benefits to get short term disability, but this still sucks.
