I feel like every time I clean out my brooder (which is just a big lawnmower box) I rearrange the food/water/roosts and sometimes include different and new boxes for the chicks to play on. I also hide some crumbles around the bedding. I could just be imagining it, but I feel like when I put the girlies back into their brooder, they are all SUPER excited to explore their "new" setup.

Am I weird or does anyone else do this? It's kind've like playing a dollhouse! Anyone have any other tricks to entertain their young ones? I'm hoping for foragers, and so far, they seem to be really good at finding all the food stashes.

I do the same! They love it! I will bring in outside things like rocks, sticks, log, bark, grass, things they will see and can move around and play with! They like climbing in on and over an overturned milk carton!

I have to agree. I like to clean it and rearrange it...DH laughs at me he said you do know they are not dolls right?. It seems they like it better and keeps em busy instead of bothering each other.

glad I found others who do this too

I've done paper towel rolls and I collect interesting driftwood from the beach, but I'll try the milk cartons! Did you cut them open?
