How is your flock today?

@Sally PB It's funny you say that about your chickens. Our four chickens are the first ones to check anything new out, just to make sure the ducks don't get any first. :lau

I can walk into our Coop with anything in my hands, coffee mug included and the goofy chickens are trying to jump up in my arms to get so. Silly Turkeys.

@BlueBaby Animal sitting? I wish we has someone close we could trust with our animals to be able to take off for a few days....... Two Months? WOW! :barnieWhat's up with that?

The 2 month's thing was back this past summer when the wife just had to go to Florida. Anyway's that was when she had to quarantine after arriving there for 2 week's. Then, she stayed on after the grandson still couldn't go back to school because they were closed. I was babysitting their animal's over here while she was babysitting her grandson over there. Her husband was out of town on a job. The 8 chicken's that they have, they got through me and my hatching addiction from my flock. I had to teach them how to care for the chicken's properly.

O wow that is craziness , What's the chance that could ever happen, I bet they were so glad you were there to help. :)

Yesterday was a good day with our flock, five duck eggs and four chicken. :yesss: Chewy has started to spend more time in with the others out free ranging. Our four hens still have fire in their eyes when they look at him, but not all over him like at first. I still don't dare lock them up in the Coop together for fear he wouldn't make it out alive. Chewy is a lot quicker then the hens and they loose interest in trying to chase him. LOL

Just started to rain again today at 5:00am and by the radar looks like it is going to rain for most of the day again, so tired of all the mud! :barnie

@BlueBaby If I understand you correctly, they don't keep enough feed on hand and it's up to you to buy their feed also?

No, that's not the case at all. They fill up all of the feed barrel's before they leave, including mine. Then they also buy more for me through the rest of the year. I very seldom have to buy any of my own feed and scratch anymore, so that save's me money. Basically, I only have to buy the type of chick starter feed that I keep in the house when I am hatching or brooding chick's.

It's dry over here, but it been chilly where I am. The rain and snow has been north of me. At 8:15 AM this morning it was 29-F. It will warm up this afternoon though.
