Over here, I don't usually have much trouble with the mosquitos except during the monsoon season when there are puddles standing around and all of those weed's are growing.I have not seen much of any bullying surprisingly. Possibly my BR matriarch has things well in hand with just a side lookMastering the art of stink eye. But also not a lot of laying going on either.. .
Here's a weird thing. My 3yo Ameraucana is laying better now, with more colorful eggs and looking better than ever. So she is my new consistent layer w/ 4-5 a week @ 3yrs old
I have a few sneezes going on in the flock after that wet and windy weather we had. I put some vitamins in their waterers. Also picked up beautiful mulch and spread a beautiful layer down for them (and me).
There are half a handful of times a year when my open coop does not work. Think I am going to pick up a few more sticks of wood and tighten up any gaps to block the breeze and retain the heat better... may get down to 60s in another month. Unfortunately the mosquitoes will like that too![]()
