How long after broody period until they start laying again?

I have two BC Marans hens. The dominate one went broody. Got eggs. They hatched 2 weeks ago. Her sister got lonely and went broody for about 1 1/2 weeks until she became an aunt. Now 2 weeks later they have been running around eating like pigs and no one is laying...!!!!!!!!

(Or paying the rent as we refer to it)
What gives? When should I expect eggs again? Or is there anything I should do? Should I put the fake eggs back in the boxes? Thanks for any advice. This is my first experience as my girls are only 7 months.

mine was about 7 weeks i think, kicked the kids to the curb and back to laying.

Usually it's shortly after they stop mothering the chicks, which I think is usually between 4 and 8 weeks.

Ohhhhh, ok. Thanks. I know that they can maintain their own body temp at 3 weeks? so I was wondering how long she would mother them. She is so cute with them though. Still calls them over when she has found something good to eat. Lets them use her as a slide etc. Just had to share. It is my first hatch out in the coop and not the incubator.
