Hello! I'd like to hatch some eggs from my Orpingtons in January. Right now all my hens are in with two roosters, so I'll be seperating the Orpingtons out into their own pen. How long until I can be sure the eggs are fertilized by the Orpington rooster instead of my SLW rooster?

Thanks!

You can also remove the girls from all roosters, and when you see that they're laying unfertilized eggs, put the desired roo back in.

A hen can stay fertile from a roo for about 3 weeks, so I'd give it a full month just to make sure.

I'd say 3 weeks to a month. I had a broody hatch out eggs almost a month after I removed her man. She laid about 10 or 11 eggs ,I forget, and hatched almost all of them.
