How long are the eggs so little?

My moms hens have been laying about a month now and the eggs are still so small! The hens are EEs but the eggs small, not like a quail egg, for certain, but much smaller than store bought. Do they get bigger?

They will get bigger as then hens age some. Those are pullet eggs and are usually smaller for a while , sometimes their first season.

Our pullets have been laying for maybe 2.5 to 3 mos and they are laying quite a few large eggs now. I know this because I got a handy dandy egg scale from eggcartons.com. I don't weigh every egg but I weighed a couple today. We're probably about 45% large, 40% med-large, 10% medium and we still get a tiny egg or two once in a while. So that's the other 5%.

One that I have started laying Oct 20. Her eggs are now 2.3 ounces... So I suspect that by about 4-months your pullets will be laying their normal size.
