how long before broody starts to lay again

ho wlong will it take for my broody who hatched eggs in october to start to lay again. She is a silkie and in the coop with the other silkies and her chicks. they still snuggle at night

I dont have silkie experience, but it can vary. I have 2 hens that started laying about 2 months after hatching, but then my spring time broody took a lot longer than that...like 3 1/2 months. It may depend on stress factors and things like that. The 2 hens I have now are a lot less stressed than the springtime broody (she lost her flock to a fox attack while she was setting and had to deal with getting to know new chickens when she went back with the adult birds)
