Our red pullets started laying eggs about a month ago. They are free range chickens, so the do tend to lay wherever they feel like it. We recently found a nest that had 4 eggs in it but we are not sure how old they are. Is it fine to refrigerate and eat them, or do they go bad after a while of not being refrigerated?

You can test them to see how old they are! If you fill up a pot with water and put the eggs in it, ones that sink to the bottom should be fine to refrigerate and eat. Ones that float to the top...open them far away from your nose! They're no good.

Thanks for your help! :) I've been wondering if there was a test for that but couldn't find anything
