How long can a chicken last solo?

We may have to put a chicken down which just leaves us with one Buff Orpington. We're going on vacation for 4 days and when we get back we'll get 4 more. The remaining one always got lonely when the one we may have to put down was laying eggs (bum leg, she's at the vet now) so I'm not sure how this is going to go.

Any help would be appreciated as we're on a time crunch!

I dont see any reason why she wont be fine for 4 days, as long as someone comes to care for her.

She'll be cared for but she always got a little noisy when her friend was inside laying (we live in the city but with very understanding neighbors).

Right now it looks like we'll try to nurse our injured one back to health.
