How long can a chicken or Rooster live?

I have chickens and a Rooster that are 3 years old....They are all doing really good. I just wasn't sure how long they live. Someone asked my and I had no answer. I know that the hens will stop laying after a while but I have my chickens as pets...The eggs are just a benefit.

according to google, up to 10 yrs, but most live 5-6..... i can't say from experiance mine are only 1.....

Good because I love my Rooster and want him around for a long time.
