How long can a Silkie stay in molt?

I have a Blue Silkie Hen I show, and she had a illness a while back and now her top knot isn't coming back. She has some pin feathers as well, but it has been in this stage for a while. It's been maybe a few months.

Have a friend with a Blue hen as well, she has been this way for a year!

What worries me is she was sick, and I don't know if thats messed up her top knot or not. Here is what she used to look like.

Maybe sometimes they moult for the better, and sometimes not? I have a Silkie rooster that had a larger crest as a 4 month old cockerel than he does as a year old rooster, though not as dramatic as yours!
