I butchered my very first chicken today, and it took me around an hour and a half from start to finish. Definitely was a lot more difficult than I thought, but now I know what to do next time.
I periodically hosed down the chicken with cold water while I worked, but I’m curious if it’s safe to eat— and how long freshly killed chickens can even sit out. When does freshly butchered chicken start to become unsafe?
