How long can hens safely go without water??

Been like 95 degreee so I had to fence up the barn door

Well one of my
Hens come up missing on Saturday ..after fretting over her loss...I found her trapped under a bucket..she'd been under there for two days..I carried her to the water and she drank and drank..then I hand fed her high calorie..high protein foods...she ate and ate..she acted normal..maybe alittle weak..do I need to do anything more but watch and wait?

I accidently closed one of my hens in a shed for 11 days with no food or water. When I opened it she came out and pecked at the ground like nothing happened. I know it was 11 days because that's how long she had been missing.

Eleven days...wow that's incredible...and no worse for wear too

I open all of the doors on my 4 coops before I go to work in the morning 5 am and when I got home I noticed 1 was closed, I must not have opened 1

. Boy were they hungry and thirsty, they went without food and water for 10 hrs. I am saving my egg money to buy automatic doors.

Your local weather will dictate how long an animal can last without water. In cooler weather they will last much longer but in high heat it does not take very long.

It was 95 degrees outside..but she was trapped under a black rubber bucket...I took her straight to the water..she's doing great...I was so happy to find her...I cried...and just stroked her soft feathers.
