How long can I candle eggs or turn them, without them getting too cold? How long will it take for my incubator to heat back up again?

Sorry, I don't want to do anything wrong

I candle at the minimum amount of time, as soon as I see a rotten egg, I through it out, when I see a good egg, I put it back under unless there are several others, this is by the broody hen method, I would not recommend leaving the incubator open for more than 5 minutes. Depends on how long it was open

Candling and turning will not affect your eggs development as it can take much longer than you would think for them to get "cold" My incubator has a cool down feature where the incubator turns itself off for one hour per day. This is to replicate the hen getting off the nest to eat, drink and poop.
Here is a good read on cooling with a link in there to the research paper ~ http://www.brinsea.co.uk/cooling/

Great response above. The speed with which your incubator will return to temp / humidity depends on the make of incubator. Turning the incubator off before candling and removing the eggs as quickly as possible and putting the cover back on as soon as possible will help maintain temperature/humidity, thus speeding up your incubators return to settings.

I myself don't for how long, but as long as they are kept warm at all times, the chicks should be ok.
