How long can I hold Eggs?

If I start holding eggs to hatch, how many days can I hold them before they have to be incubated.

I forgot to ask what is the best temp to hold them @ before incubation?

someplace cool....50s or 60s.....not the refrigerator....just in a cool room....

In fact I just kept my last clutch I set of Light Brahmas from my own henhouse on the kitchen counter in a basket til I had enough to set....my kitchen stays in the high 60s....

I was collecting eggs for incubation, and thought I better find out how long I can hold them. So I typed my question in and there was the answer. There is nothing better than to have a place where the inexperienced has free and readily available experts. Thanks

I hold mine for myself to hatch up to 3 weeks. Shipped eggs only 2-3 days. When holding them keep them cool and remember to turn them a couple times a day.
