how long can i take eggs from hen to candle.

Hi guys.Im just wanting to candle my eggs at 10days and need to know how long I can have them away from the hen before they need to be back.I tired yesterday but she wasnt too happy letting me have all 15,so i could only get 7,one of which had a dent/crack,so I opened it and saw a small embryo.
Any help is much appreciated.

When a setting hen gets off to eat and drink, she can be off for up to an hour. So, just take your time and be careful and to drop any. I made that mistake once.

Agreed, If you can catch her off the nest it is easiest. But up to an hour is no problem.
