How Long Can the Hen Be Off Nest?

This afternoon sometime the hen still sitting eggs decided to switch nests. I'm not sure how long the eggs were without miss Broody, I just discovered the switch at 10:00 PM. The eggs felt cold to the touch but the coop is fairly warm, somewhere around 70 to 80 inside all day today perhaps a bit higher. She only has 6 days left to hatch!

They are probably fine. Is she back on the nest today? With the temp being warm it won't hurt for her to be off of them for a while at a time. I had a broody that it seemed like she was always off the nest! She still hatched some cute little chicks! Good luck

She was back on yesterday, just on the wrong one. I put her eggs back under her last night so we'll see. Thanks!

don't worry, it's a very normal behaviour, chicken knows what to do while broody. again, don't worry and don't try to move the eggs to another eggs, it's a normal situation, just keep waiting for your new babies !!
