Today is day 21 for me and I have 3 chicks hatched. One actually hatched out yesterday. They are lively and dried already. I also have a lot more eggs that have pipped, zipped, and some with no progress. How long can the hatched chicks last in there? Can they stay in there until Monday to give the other eggs a chance??

Really? I thought it was really bad to open the bator with other eggs that have pipped?

I'm waiting too....I have the same situation.

I think opening the 'bator with other eggs that have pipped can dry out the membrane inside and make them stuck. (I think)

If I had to open the 'bator with pipped eggs to retrieve hatched chicks, I would go into a steamy bathroom. ( By running a hot shower. ) and being very quick about it!

Hatched chicks don't need any additional food/water for about three days after.

I always take my chicks out when they are dry. I have never had a problem opening the bator. Just know where the chick is open just enouph to slip your hand in and grab the chick. It's for only 2 seconds not a big deal.

That's the same thing that I alway do. Never had a problem myself.

I do the same too:-) as long as your quick grab all three at once and shut bator all good:-) borrow a pair of hand to help for a one time grab:-)
