How long can you keep edible eggs?

Alright, I know this has been asked numerous times before, but I can't find any of those threads now.
In a WARM house (78F average), how long can you leave eggs sit on the counter? And, how long can you keep them in the fridge if you toss them in right after collecting?

I keep mine in the fridge right after collecting. I stock up on the eggs so I have enough to make it through winter. 3 months, no problem, some folks keep them longer than that.

I've been told 30 days unrefrigerated and 60 days refrigerated, but I am not sure about the inside temp being 78 degrees. Storeys Guide to Raising Chickens Book has alot about egg storage and shelf life as well as many ways to tell if they are still good.

We should be just fine then.

We're not big egg eaters, and I want to get a hen or two of the Serramas. We'd be able to save up enough eggs to make a meal for all of us without any problems, and they wouldn't go to waste like store eggs might. Thanks again.

I keep my refrigerated ones for about three months also.
You can tell a bad egg, because it will float in water and when you break it open the membrane between the yolk and the white will have disintegrated and the insides will look like a scrambled egg.

wow i did not know you could keep eggs that long unrefrigerated .. we usually throw our store bought refrigerated eggs away on the exp date which is 14-18 days after they are bought i have thrown store bought eggs away if they were left on the counter over night or a few hours during the day

I have always kept eggs for 3months in the Frig. some times longer.
with no problems.and on the counter 2 plus weeks .
if we are over stocked.
in Europe they do not refrigerate their eggs,

I'm guessing this would this apply to Goose and Duck eggs too?
We are over run with eggs this time of year and have been cooking up refrigerated eggs over 3 weeks old and feeding them back to the chickens.
