How long can you really keep them?

2 out of my 6 hens are laying now. how long can I keep eggs, I read anything from 4-8 weeks? also what do you label them with? sharpie?

Normally they will keep in a refrigerator for over a month. You can check them by placing them in water. If they sink, they are fine. If they float, then throw them away.
