When you are collecting eggs to put in the incubator, how long can you hold them before putting them in? I don't know if it makes any sense, but I worded it the best I could. If you get say 6 eggs a day from your hens, but you want to put 24 in your incubator, would the other eggs still be fertile?

Easily one week... some still good after, but % of hatching goes down after that.

edited to add... remember to turn several times a day while waiting... also room temp.

7-10 days. If saved any longer than that, their chance of hatching will rapidly decrease.

Keep them at room temp. and turn them once a day if your going to be storing

them longer than 2 days. Store them with the pointy end of the egg facing

downward, and remember to wash your hands before touching them.

Good Luck!
