I have 9 week old freedom rangers that have been lying down a lot of the day and just today I noticed some of their vents are dirty! Any ideas what it could be and what to do? Thanks so much!

They get food scraps, scratch, some chicken specific treats with pumpkin seeds and worms, and then just a basic organic grower feed. I’ve never wormed them and haven’t felt their crop today.
Do you have photos of them and their poop?

I couldn’t find any super concerning poop the one of the back side was the worst vent other than that just a little dirty they were walking around a bunch this morning I think hoping I was bringing them more food then laying down so I’m wondering if they’re just getting so big now

Could be that they are lounging about too much.

Do you have a place for them to graze or range? Perhaps give them something to do, like dig in some straw or a pile of leaves.

At 9weeks, it may be getting time to process them as well.

This morning I did find some suspicious poop!

You may want to treat them for possible coccidiosis with Corid or amprollium. Get that at most feed stores in the cattle medicines. Dosage is 2 tsp of the liquid or 1.5 tsp of the powder per gallon of water for 5 days. Change the water daily, and raise it so they don’t get poop in it? When are you planning to process them?
