To start laying again after being shipped across country? I contacted the folks I bought my blue Ameraucana pullet from to see about how old she is so I can get an idea to when she'll start laying and they said she had already started before she was sent to me. I'm sure the trip across country was stressful to her but I've had her for a month now and she hasn't layed yet. Do you all think it really effected her so bad that she has stopped for the rest of the year?

I was wondering if stress causes them to stop to. Two of mine have not laid in about 2 months. I think it's because I put a CBOF for a hen in with them. Now the COBF is the only layer I have.

I have the same issue here with my two new barred rock girls, the guy who sold them to me said one was already laying for the year and they're not pullets but hens. So I thought after a couple of weeks settling in they might start to lay agian, but no luck yet.

They were moved in sacks so they couldn't see anything, but it still would've stressed them out. then being put in with my other girls - although it seems as if they're at the top of the new pecking order!

I guess it's just a case of wait and see

Last spring I bought chickens that were already laying. It was a 100 mile drive home. The farmer told me they may not lay for a while due to the stress of moving. The RIRs were laying within a week. The white leghorns took up to 2 months.
