how long do chicks need chick starter????

I switch at 20 weeks, however I feed it during the colder times of the year to my adults because it keeps them laying all winter. The next bag will go back to layer pellets.

Hi,
My splash (zsa-zsa) ,just hatched 4 of her 10 eggs today, and I am not sure if I have to get food, etc.
Do I let the mother take care of them, she is sitting on them still,or should I take them out?
All the info I can get will be greatly appreciated,I love my chickens, except fred I have to find someone to take him,I already have a roo,and they fight all the time,so they are seperated.
Please guide this new papa.....

The chicks need chick starter/grower. The hen can eat it too. She might could use the extra calories and nutrients since she is just coming off the nest.

I feed mine the starter/grower until I see an egg then I switch them over to layer.
