The back of the bag of the brand that you are using should have a chart. Mine is until 11 weeks.

when I see mine eating with the rest of the flock I discontinue the starter, of course, they are pretty fair size by then.

I always kept mine on it til they were right before laying age about 20 weeks and then switched them to the layer.

I switch at 20 weeks, however I feed it during the colder times of the year to my adults because it keeps them laying all winter. The next bag will go back to layer pellets.

Hi,
My splash (zsa-zsa) ,just hatched 4 of her 10 eggs today,and I am not sure if I have to get food,etc.
Do I let the mother take care of them,she is sitting on them still,or should I take them out?
All the info I can get will be greatly appreciated,I love my chickens,except fred I have to find someone to take him,I already have a roo,and they fight all the time,so they are seperated.
Please guide this new papa.....

The chicks need chick starter/grower. The hen can eat it too. She might could use the extra calories and nutrients since she is just coming off the nest.

I feed mine the starter/grower until I see an egg then I switch them over to layer.
