How long do ducks live?

That's awesome that we get to enjoy our babies so long. I'm happy, but just don't tell Kevin. I told him a few years last time he asked. I don't think he wants to hear that they could live with use into our 40s. He wouldn't be too happy to hear that...

I on the other way very excited to hear this!! I love my birds but I always thought they lived to like 5 or something.

When I was a kid we would go to the local marina and feed the ducks and this mean flock of geese would come and bully the ducks away. One of them had a broken wing and was mean as heck....I'm 29 and when I take my kids to feed the ducks the same mean flock of geese are there and the same one still has the broken wing.

I just lost my female roen this morning, in the duck pen due to unknown causes. There wasnt a mark on her. I don't know how old she was but I know my male would rarely have anything to do with her prefering to breed the other female. Due to coyotes and such my flock is now consisting of 3 buffs and a male roen. I am wondering if I should make a floating island so the ducks could have protection. Any one know of a good plan or layout for one? I have searched pinterest and they seem to not want to divulge their plans. I am getting very disheartened over losing another duck./.
