How long do new layers lay soft shelled eggs and it still be considered “normal”?

Oh yes, absolutely. It seems like over the course of a month or so everything lined out. It was maybe 2 of our chickens that laid the soft ones while the others never did. It just takes a little bit of time for their systems to get in sync. ☺

Thank you for the update, it gives me some hope. I’m not a new chicken owner but definitely new to this.
