How long do peacocks live?

Hello,
I was wondering if peacocks live for 50 years. I love mine pied, and was hoping to hang out with him for a long time. But i read somewhere only 20 years.

20 is normal but some do get very old, I heard 46 years is the record once

I had one live 25 yrs , and his last few years he grew a shorter tail, and was low on the pecking order, gave him away so don't know how long he lived.

My oldest is around 20. I file his beak every fall because he doesn't wear it down quickly enough. He's not very good at preening himself the past few years and his tail shows it - he doesn't get all the cellulose sheath off his train feathers and looks kind of ratty. When he preens, he sometimes breaks his train feathers off, and he never did that before. But he's healthy, active and chasing the girls. He doesn't fence-fight any more and that's a blessing. As long as he's happy, I'm happy.

Oh boy, now I am worried that 20 is not enough. It feels as if the peacock has become my soulmate, like the demons people had in Golden Compass movie.
Well thank you, if any of you have peacocks that are 40 years, let me know.

I've got a peacock/hen -not sure neck feathers sometimes look deep blue other times bright green only 4 months old. For now I call her Pea, and a week ago went in with the chickens. She has her own 4x4 roost on one side but has choosen to sleep next to the chickens at night. She is VERY low on pecking order and they peck her to keep her away. Today and yesterday seemed fine but she stays on one side and them on the other side. Tonight I saw she went up on her own roost. As she gets Larger than them, will she become more dominant? She is in with 10 chickens and a rooster. The rooster stays away too but pecks if she gets too close to him. The food and water are not an issue but I still give her Treats, Lettuce each morning by herself. She is not puffed up and is not looking cold, and is very content and wants to be near the chickens but they in turn don't like her. Will the chickens eventually accept her? do you think? (Originnaly I got 2 peachicks but one never grew and it died so she is lonely) Thought the chickens would accept her quicker.

I'm pushing 70 and my peafowl are only a year old! They are likely to outlive me!

They don't call it a pecking order for nothing. As she gets bigger and more mature the chickens may not accept her but they will leave alone. Road Island Red hens are especially aggressive to new birds.
