How long do they practice??

I have an azure blue who was sold to me as a 8 or 9 month old point of lay pullet. That was back in May I believe. She has possibly laid one fairy egg (no yoke, robin egg sized) maybe a month ago but nothing else. She squats, her face and comb are red, she acts like an egg is in the way and sits in the nest box every day but nothing. She has been dining this for 6 weeks! Is she just a dud or what? I think she was obviously way younger when I got her but she has been practicing for a loooooong time.

Since you can't be certain of age, she could be younger.
Moving also throws off laying, new environment stress.

What does her ‘voice’ sound like? Is she getting that ‘honking’ type squawking going on? Or still cheeping?
