How long do you wait for a customer on your waiting list?

For people that sell chicks or chickens and have a waiting list of people interested in purchasing but waiting for availability, how long do you wait for them to get back with you after you message them?

For example, John & Jane are both on the waiting list, and you call John to tell him eggs are available, and have not heard back from him when do you let the next person in line, Jane, have a chance to take the eggs?

Yes, that is exactly what I meant. I think you explained a lot better than I did. LOL! By the way, no payment has been exchanged. Just notification that they are available.

If I haven't heard back in three days I go to the next name on the list but keep the other name in case they contact me later. They may be on vacation or something. If I haven't heard back in a couple of weeks I scratch them off entirely.
