I take my broodies away from the babies at around 3 weeks, so I can become Mama and raise them to like ME. My Silkie Mama is so protective that she teaches the babies this behavior, and I can't have that, so she gets them a little while, then they are my babiies the rest of the time. People are always amazed at how friendly my birds are, and I attribute this to taking mama away.
