How long does it take a chicken to lay an egg?

Does it pop out fast or is it like childbirth and it takes a while? Does it get quicker as they mature?

ETA: Sorry for all of the questions I am new at the egg laying thing my first flock.

well its really the hen but normaly about 30 minutes
