How long does it take a hen to realize she doesn't have chicks

Not exactly the same, but I had a broody sitting on eggs. Got too cold, they got out from under her one way or another, the fetuses died when I found them. She sat around clicking the mom cluck for maybe two-three days and then went back to her regular self. She's an excellent mom too, so I figure if your hen can't see the chicks, she'll stop clucking in a couple days.

she went broody a week after the eggs I put in the incubator hatched. But I wanted more so I gave her 14 eggs now I have 34 chicks and I realize I over did it. Im gonna find some of them new homes

And mom is still making the broody noises every now and then. she looks so sad too next time I'll build a small separate coop for her

don't give up on cold eggs the hen that went broody somehow flipped the feed bucket on her head and I didn't find her till hours later once I got home from school and it was maybe 38 degrees outside and the eggs were super cold but I let her sit on them still and all of them hatched
