how long does it take before an injured hen will resume laying eggs?

I'm new here... as I stated in my introduction thread, my kids found two injured chickens in different stages of healing and we have not been successful in locating their owner, so we are going to keep them and love them!

Just curious on how long we can expect it to be before we see eggs from our girls?!?!?

There is really no way to know when or if your chickens will lay eggs. Each bird is different. A lot is dependent on age, the extent of the wounds, breed, etc.

There's a lot going on there. They are injured, they are lost, they are in a strange home... circumstantially is can take anywhere from 2 wks to 2 months after a significate stressful event to resume laying. But that can also be shorter or longer depending on thier bird. You also don't know thier age and they could be towards the tail end of thier laying life. Just give them time losts of time

Life has been so busy this week, and I work this weekend, but I promise to post pics soon! I just checked the girls out and they are already looking SO MUCH better! I am amazed!

I really don't care if they ever lay, I'm just happy to nurse them back to health! We have fallen in love though, and I do see a few more in our flock once these two ladies are better!
