How long does it take for a chicken to molt?

My chickens have been molting FOREVER (about 1 1/2 weeks) And I am tired of raking up feathers 3 times a day!

How long does it take for a chicken to molt? Does it affect egg production because mine are 7 1/2 months old and aren't laying?!?!? Thanks!

At least two months, sometimes a good deal longer. As a rule, they do not lay while molting. Mine seem to take 3 months off for a molt.
