How long does it take for recovering coccidiosis chicks to no longer be contagious to other chickens

My chicks are doing well but I have no idea how long I need to keep the chick barn on lock down. I will be disinfecting tomorrow. How long before it is safe to expose other chicks to them?

Much depends on the environment your chicks are exposed to. Like the information states, chicks usually build an immunity to coccidiosis at 14-16 weeks of age.

You're welcome. Virkon S is a powerful disinfectant that kills just about anything. I've used Biophene too. For disinfecting housing, feeders, and waterers I've used Oxine for some time. It's good to use different types to avoid creating resistant diseases. I first treat chicks for cocci prevention at around 3-4 weeks of age. I do it every three weeks until they are around 5 months old. Doing that stopped the past problems for me.
