DAY 1 - Where did those come from?
Day 2 - You sure are spending alot of time learning, reading, playing with those chicks.
Day 3 - We need what from the feed store?
Day 4 - No honey, I'm really glad you have something you like to do.
Day 5 - I can't today, I'm building a coop for the wife.
Day 6 - When do they go outside?
Day 7 - They make too much noise. (refering to the tiny peeps which cannot be heard through the garage door).
Day 8 - who left this cup in the garage?(shhh..I carried water to the chicks.)
Day 9 - D@*n chickens!

Answer: 9 Days..Apx a week & 1/2.

A friend of mine told me about this phenomenon...but it's truely funny to experience it.
Can anyone feel me?

Hmmm...my hubby was all for and still is! He built my coop, and goes out and chats with them all the time! He is a big softy, he will gripe the first 5 mins, and then all you hear is baby talk!

Mine reminds me often during the day and especially before bed, "Did you check on your chicks?, How are they?. Is their temp right?. Half serious, half kidding.

He also says. " You spend more time with them than me".

Or to the dog." Poor baby, mommy doesn't love you anymore, she has her chicks", on and on to him.

It will be interesting to see what he does when they are out in the coop.

Too Funny!

From a guy that thought I was nuts for wanting them.

I'm convinced it's a sarcastic way to secretly reveal the feeling of "oh no, does she love them more than me?". Which would never happen.
That's so funny how he tells the dog that stuff. lol
Men behavior is almost as funny as chicken behavior:lol:

I guess I should count my blessings then. My husband and I one day just brought up the conversation and next thing we knew....BLAM, we had chicks. It's nice to have something that both like to do. I have an addiction that my hubby just can't understand and he hates it. I play an online game called Everquest and I've tried and tried to get him to play just so he could see what it's like but he won't. He calls me an "Evercrack head". So for us to have a common interest is great. But if I had to say which of us is into it more, I would probably say him. I would be following very close behind though. Our 14 year old daughter though thinks chickens are ugly, that they stink, and point blankly I think she's just upset that all the extra money has been going to the chickens and getting the coop and the run made and done properly.

Trying to tell a teen girl that they have a right to a roof over their heads as well just doesn't seem to sit well. At this age, it's me me me. Are there others that have hubbies as hooked on chickens?

I guess I'm lucky too my husband started this raising chickens. He was home during the day then Now he works nights and yours truly has taken over the chickens as well as all the other animals he brings home. His last foray to the feed store brought home two two week old guinea pigs. Says there for the grandkids but who holds them at night he does. Hes just an ole softy. But you can't let him get within a yard of the friend who sells him these animals or who knows what he'll bring home. Next he wants to try milk goats.....

LOL! Love the list!

We are on Day #4. I HAD thought Hubby was excited about it, too, until he said it was only for my sake.. only time will tell, I guess!

And I wish my hubby was into goats. His boss is a farmer, and yesterday at going-home time chased my hubby down the driveway with a baby goat "for the kids". LOL Hubby locked the truck door, so the boss couldn't put the cutie in!

My husband loves our chickens. Yesterday he brought them a bag of crickets from the bait store. 100 crickets (give or take) gone in 60 seconds!

My son says Dad sits out there and talks to the chickens sometimes when I'm not home. He built them a really nice, humongous coop & run too.
