I had birds before I had hubby.. He doesnt understand why but never really complained too much... Course back thenI just had some laying hens.. .. Now he is more or less "What do you need all those Da** birds for".. He stays on his side of the property. He doesnt go out to my side... If he does he has to keep his mouth shut or I start to point out all HIS hobbies.. Such as the 7 quads, and the rather large assortment of rifles we own.. 14 440 engines laying around.. Assorted vehicles etc.. Trust me his "hobbies" far out weigh my measley birds..
Now as much as he loves to gripe about my birds, how expensive they are, why do you need so many, why this why that... He is the FIRST one to complain if I get store bought eggs, and he arranged to get me BOTH my sportsmans.. Probably so he could then have more stuff to gripe about I suppose LOL...
I think its just his way of having something to gripe about in case HE does something wrong LOL.. Such as the new fuel tank he bought without so much as mentioning it to me.. Im talking 850 bucks just so he could haul and extra 20 more gallons of fuel... Or like the time he brought home 4 rifles... (Was too good a deal to pass up) ....
Oh but let someone show an interest in the birds such as one of his buddies wanting a duck for dinner.. or a friend wants some laying hens... All the sudden its all WE, and OUR LOL... And when he dont think I can hear you should here him talk about birds like he hand raised those buggers himself LOL... Perhaps he learned from osmosis?
Over all I wish he was more supportive, It does get kind of old hearing him gripe about how expensive they are, specially when I KNOW he only says that crap when hes being a snotbutt... But when it comes right down to it.. GUess who is grabbing up one of those rifles if a stray dog comes in or a coyote?? Yep you guessed it.. HIM... And when I need tools.. GUess who brings me home what I need? Such as the Christmas gift of all cordless tools so I can build coops easier
Or the pair of saw horses, and the wood etc..
And he even sneaks peeks into the incubator (clear door) when there are chicks hatching, tells me if a brooder lamp is off in case maybe it is supposed to be on... I think he secretly likes the birds... Maybe hes afraid if he lets on that he likes them - I might get MORE
Hee Hee....
