My RIR 8 month old chicken was attacked by a hawk after it snowed. She is fine but I noticed wing feathers missing. When the snow melted I found the rest of the feathers. How long will it take for them to grow back?

How long for feathers to grow back in depends on the genetics of the individual and whether the feathers were merely broke off or plucked out.

I had a pullet that was attacked by a hawk two years ago, and all her back feathers were cleanly yanked out without a scratch on her skin. She went an entire summer, fall, and winter, another entire summer, and fall without any new feathers. She finally molted at the beginning of this winter and is only just now getting all new feathers.

When your pullet molts, she will replace those feathers, if not before.

I’m amazed by ours. The dog attacked the two chickens 2nd January and they have 2 to 3 inch long new feathers. They seem to grow quicker on the back and tail than their backsides though!
Because those feathers were fully plucked out.
