I Have a Question.
When hens who have never been kept with a Rooster are put in with one, how long does it take for the eggs to be fertile?
I need to check my new Roo's fertility, and wanted to know when I can put the eggs in an incubator....

Thanks!

I don't know- I know, however, that eggs can still be fertile after taking away a roo for something up to 2 weeks, although hatchability goes WAY down. I'd say wait a week or so, although I'm no expert.

Also. I wanted to know if I can take an egg right out of the nest-box (still warm) and put in right into the Incubator...

You will need to open some eggs and check for fertility by looking for the bullseye.
We are doing that right now with our young roo. He's just starting to jump the hens and we aren't seeing consistent bullseyes in the eggs yet.
I learned by experience that roos can go sterile as they age too. Check for fertile bullseyes periodically.
