How long does medicated feed stay in the chickens system.

I want to say I read somewhere that the chicks who are raised outside by their momma don't really need medicated feed at all. That their risk of cocci is slim to non. Is that true? I would not have fed them medicated if I could have found non-medicated when they were hatched. Either way, I am glad I don't have to try to pick out her egg everyday to toss.

OK so we finally decided it was time for our whole flock to live as one. No more seperation. We are feeding the chicks an organic Starter/grower and the hens are eating a egg producer. The feeder for the bigger birds is high up but Nilla has been feeding the chicks some of the larger feed any time she has a chance too. The hens have been sneaking into the rabbit hutch and eating the starter/ grower. We really have no control over what they choose to eat now. Is this bad? Should I switch them all to something they can all eat?

Ok good to know. Although a few started indoors since we incubated and had our broody hatch out 4 then traded out the ones we wanted to keep. We should have had faith in our broody she was 4 for 4.
