How long does mother take care of chick

I have my first chick hatched by a chicken. How long does the mother usually stay and take care of the chick? I have them in a cage together. I wanted to be sure that I got her out before she would ever hurt it if she would.

Average is 45 days.Can be more or less

She will take care of them for anywhere from 3 weeks on up. She will chase the little ones away, or just walk away froom them, when she is DONE. I have had some that keep watching babies for up to 10 weeks, and some that left hers after only 3 weeks.
